Finding Database Articles:

Databases are available on campus and off. Not all articles are full-text.

Proquest Nursing includes fulll-text of over 250 journals and indexes many others. Content is not limited to nursing and includes important medical journals.

Medline contains citations, abstracts, and some full-text on a range of medical topics. Note: This database includes medical, dental, and veterinary articles.

JStor is a full-text archive of scholarly essays in a range of subjects. The archives will span every issue of a journal ever publised except the most current 2 to 5 years. This means that this is a good database for tracking the history of science, rather than current research.

-Go directly to "advanced search."

-Limit your search by choosing your discipline at lower half of the screen.

-Enter your search terms in the boxes at the top of the screen.

Academic Search Premier is a general databases, and offers access to a wide range of articles, both in research journals and in popular magazines and newspapers. Much of the content is full-text.

If you see the "find full text" box, it does not mean that the article is full-text in that database. Click on the box to find out if the NPU or other Illinois libraries own the journal, or if it is full-text in another database. It will also allow you to click on interlibrary loan. Just fill in your information and we will contact you when your article arrives.
